Robert Arismendi & Edgar Ayala

Thursday

Very different day.

Around 1:00 pm, a simple storm cloud / rain cloud came in. Strong rain fell for a couple of hours, which is not normally a big deal. However, a transformer blew and power was lost across the campus. So, rest time went long, service was moved before dinner and all of the kids then had their food brought to them. Power was restored during the dinner time, so from 6 - 8 pm, we had time at the pool and the lake. (Normally service time.) The best thing was that we had our schedule completly changed and everything worked out just fine.

Pics and other videos will be posted on Saturday. The Official Camp Video will be shown in kids church on Sunday morning and in the main sanctuary, Sunday night.

Thank YOU so much for your continued prayer for Kid's Camp 2009. With one of the best services ever on Tuesday, to one of the strangest days on Thursday, God remained true to His promises this year. I pray that God will continue to become bigger in our kid's lives as we MAGNIFY His Word. God Bless you and see you Friday Afternoon. - Pastor Bobby

Wednesday Night Praise

Wednesday Night Service

Sorry for the delay. Wednesday night's topic was putting on the whole armor of God. The kids were shown the importance of putting on God's Armor and not attempting to protect yourself alone. God has given us tools to help us in our everyday life. As we are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, God will surround us with protection and build us up to be the Spiritual Champion He desires us to be. Praise God for the great turnout in the altar as kids sought after the things of God. Keep praying. God is real. He is real because I know it. And so do your kids. - Pastor Bobby

Wednesday Afternoon

Waterpark, waterslides, the pool, games and more today. Its hard for me to keep up with everyone. Dinner tonight is spaghetti and meatballs. What could be better? Be in prayer for tonight. We are expecting God to continue His work in our kids. Keep the comments coming. - Pastor Bobby

Wednesday waterslide

Wednesday Morning

Day 3 - Waffles & bacon for breakfast is always a great start. Everyone is getting the routine down and they know where to be. In the morning chapel, God moved again. Many kids accepted Christ and others were filled with the Holy Spirit. God is real. He is not something in a book or a topic in philosophy class. God is real. He is not the latest fad or the newest craze. What God is doing for these kids can not be done by any person. Keep praying, because God is answering. God is real. - Comments are welcome, Pastor Bobby

Tuesday Service Video 1

Tuesday Evening 2

Tuesday Evening Service

Well, I am not sure that I can say enough to convey to you what a great service we had tonight. The main subject during the service was the Power of the Holy Spirit. Service started at 7:30. By 9:30, at least 35 of our kids were still in the altar allowing the Holy Spirit to bless them! Many kids were filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Guys, let me say this another way. I am not talking about a few tears and a little crying. I mean, kids were truly FILLED with the Holy Spirit tonight. We even had two boys that left service for snack time in the cafeteria, were prayed for by Ms. LeAnne (camp speaker) and God filled them as well! Thank you, so much for your continued prayers as God truly became real in your kids lives tonight. I will try to post a few video clips tomorrow. (Sorry, I am a little tired, but really energized at the same time...) - Pastor Bobby

Tuesday afternoon.

The afternoon was filled with fun at the pool, dunk tank, game area and waterslides. Evening dinner was steak fingers, green beans (yes, I ate mine...) gravy, yeast roll and chocolate pudding. I think everyone ate well and enjoyed the food after a busy afternoon around the campus. Here are a few more pics of the day!

Day 2 - Morning Time

Camp really cranked up today! Morning breakfast was French toast sticks and ham (I though someone said fish sticks... oh, well...) Kids in Ministry was followed by chapel time and then music. (I just can't get enough of "Boom-chacka-laka-laka") The groups then broke into teams for morning contests, followed by rapid quiz and lunch. The time is already starting to fly! Everyone is well (including Serena). Keep the Dorm leaders in your prayers as week look forward to tonight's Holy Spirit service. Remember, comments are welcome. - Pastor Bobby

Monday Night Service

Monday night services were really good as Tammy and LeAnne shared many examples of the love of Jesus. The main focus for the evening was commiting our heart to Christ. It was apparent that a majority of the kids dedicated and rededicated their lives to Jesus. Altar call was great! Many of our kids stayed together and prayed for each other. We are looking forward to a fun filled Day 2, as well as tomorrow night's Holy Spirit Service. I also want to thank Pastor Pool for making the trip up here to be in service with the kids. Thank you again to all of you that are praying for a deeper revelation of Christ. More to come! - Pastor Bobby

Camp Arrival!

Hello all! We were excited to see last year's bus drivers back to take us to camp again. John, a former New Orleans Saint, was touched by your kids last year and by the power of the Holy Spirit he felt in his life. He told me he was looking forward to take our kids to camp again, and had been waiting for this trip all summer! How great is it for someone to want to drive a bus load of kids to church camp! Service is soon, so here are a few pictures.

Themostat or Thermometer?

As we get ready for camp, I am reminded of the old anaolgy of the Thermostat versus the Thermometer. I love to watch God's Holy Spirit move and impact lives. He is the active arm of God ready bring someone to the full knowledge of God's grace and mercy. However, it is truly easy to get caught up in the "watching" and the "waiting" while looking to see what the Holy Spirit will do.

It is just like the difference between the Thermostat and the Thermometer. I like to have the room cool (some say fridgid) when I sleep. But if the thermometer says "81 degrees" and I do nothing about it, then the room will stay warm and uncomfortable. I can "watch" and "wait" on the temperature to change all night. Unless I move the control on the thermostat, and send the request for the air conditioner to come on, nothing will happen to cause the change I need in the room.

Well, you can "watch" and "wait" for the Holy Spirit to move on your behalf. You might even "feel" His warmth by standing next to someone else. But, if you do not CHOOSE to ask Him to move on your behalf, nothing will happen. The temperature in you life will probably stay the same. (maybe even luke-warm) Be an agent of change, not a measure of what is around you. Actively seek the Holy Spirit's assitance in your life and let Him be the "Thermostat" of change! Don't just sit back and see the temperature, but let God put it where it needs to be.

God Bless you and pray for the Thermostat of the Holy Spirit to be active in our campers next week!
